Eye Bank Technology Consortium

This project, hosted by Google Code, aims to do something that hasn't been done before in the eye banking community. It provides a ground to publish, review and discuss technology standards that can be utilized by the industry as a whole. The Eye Bank Technology Consortium does not have any official members or goals, but is open to all IT staff in the eye banking community and is publishing one project at a time. If you have an idea and would like to contribute, please contact me.

MLERF Data Center

How does an organization become an effective user of information technology? By having solid infrastructure of course. At the heart of all of our information technologies sits the MLERF Data Center, a small, robust and flexible server environment that enables our staff to make the most of our technologies. Located next to the IT offices, it boasts:

MLERF Network

The foundation's eye banking operations are spread over three states with more then seven locations and nearly 150 employees. Our eye banking and call center operations are available 24x7x365 and serve three other eye banks. Because of this a reliable, private Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network connects all of our primary locations back to the MLERF Data Center. Our network is also available via VPN so that select staff can access company resources securely away from the network. All Internet traffic is routed out our dedicated 12Mb Internet connection.
